State school science fair at Aluva

The State School Science Fair will be held from January 4 to 8 at Aluva. Union Minister of State for Agriculture K.V. Thomas will inaugurate the fair at the Government Boys' Higher Secondary School on January 4. Education Minister M.A. Baby will preside over the function.
Transport Minister Jose Thettayil will release the logo of the fair, P.K. Krishnan, Additional Director of Public Instruction, and Anila George, Deputy Director of Education, told a press conference here on Saturday. As many as 10,000 students studying in the secondary, higher secondary and vocational higher secondary sections will participate in the fair.
1,100 students for fair
While the science fair will be held at the Holy Ghost Girls Higher Secondary School, Thottakattukara, the Nirmala Higher Secondary School will host the social science fair. The mathematics fair will be held at Vidyadhi Raja Vidya Bhavan Higher Secondary School and work experience fair will be held at the Christava Mahilalayam Higher Secondary School. The vocational expo and career festival will be held at the St. Mary's High School.
As many as 1,100 students will take part in the science fair. Around 3,000 students will take part in the work experience competitions. As many as 800 students will compete in the social science category. The vocational expo will have 84 stalls. Transport facilities have been arranged at the Aluva Railway station for participants.
The valedictory function will be inaugurated by Fisheries Minister S. Sarma on January 8.
